Testing WS with SoapUI

At work we deal with a lot of web services. After each deployment we have to do a quick smoke test to see if all these services are up and running.

We use a tool called SoapUI for this. There is a Pro and a Free version. The free version is itself feature packed.

All you have to do is give it the WSDL. It generates the skeleton requests. It lets us setup unit tests or load tests. With result assertion. Pretty useful

Its got a lot of other features like code generation… Check it out.

And of course its got an eclipse plugin too but it needs a bit of work.
