Introduction:

Problem: I can not access my POP3 account from my company. The port 110 is probably blocked.

Solution: I created a web service which will pop the mails out of my account (using Pawel Lesnikowski’s pop3 library) and generate a RSS feed. Now I can check my mail from my company.

Usage:

  1. Install the application at your host
  2. Use the URL as below to get the feed:

    http:///pop2rss/getmails.asmx/Pop?host=HOST&userId=USERID&password=PASSWORD

  3. Just substitute HOST, USERID and PASSWORD with appropriate values or use the following form…

Note: This application is just for demonstration purpose. It is not secure. If you want to use pop2rss download the code and install it on your server and secure as you see fit.
